I've been pretty deep in thought lately. Something just hasn't been feeling "right". I feel like I've lost sight of why I started creating in the first place. I've forgotten to create out of the love of creation NOT for the marketability of a project. So I've decided to take a sort of hiatus. not a full hiatus seeing how I will be creating. I even plan to create A LOT of new work. I will still post everything and be on here talking about stuff but I am finishing the 2 commission pieces I have already promised people but won't be taking on any new ones. If you really love the work I do and want to buy it feel free to make me an offer. My dream is to have all my work in peoples homes after all. I appreciate every one of you and your support Thank you for coming along for the ride! ♡Much Love♡

Though for many of my paintings on websites I've had to name them I cant remember them always. Such is the case with this beauty. It is an 18x24 I believe, acrylic on canvas. Right now it's up at Ancient Arteffex in Syracuse New York just waiting for someone to buy it and take it home. I love the solid, bold and contrasting colors. This style just oozes sexy for me. This was my first attempt and I've got to say I nailed what I was going for. The sexy vinyl shine of the lips against the flat face coloring and background, I did a pair of vinyl boots (below- is at Mademoiselles in Buffalo New York) very much like this. These are a few of people's favorite paintings I've done and are some of my favorites to paint.
I'm being featured again on the beautiful Kelly Qiana's fashion blog. Go see and look around while your there. There is a lot of fun things over there!http://www.dressbyattitude.blogspot.com/?m=1
I have been doing a lot of playing and practicing with different styles lately. I've gotten to the point that I'm searching for something. Something that moves me, something that speaks to me in the most intimate way that only creation can. I need that muse fueled intoxication. I've been trying to set up my studio and there's just something missing in there. I'm sure after some contemplation I'll figure it out. My town has opened a painting party business that has my interest peeked so I'll be going to check it out at some point. I'm hoping that it will be a new and fun thing to do and not a sad spoof of artists by crafters. I have nothing against crafters at all in fact I love to craft myself sometimes but I am against them being classified and calling themselves artists. I'm visiting family during this holiday weekend so when I get home I've got a lot to do. haha I guess that's all for now my loves! *Much Love* Lady Jane (the pic is my daughter and I at the Andy Warhol exibit a bunch of years ago) |
